About KEPP
Centre for Progressive Policy Research (KEPP)
KEPP was founded in November 2006 by 30 leaders of Greece’s academic, professional and political world, aiming to study and initiate progressive ideas and policies that reliably answer the problems of public life nowadays. KEPP realizes research projects and public events, organizes meetings of reflection and dialogue, and coordinates the production of policy oriented papers and books.
Until today, KEPP has organized numerous events with different thematic contents (economy, globalization, international policy, education, health, environment, welfare state, shipping). Prominent personalities from politics, business and the academic world, including Lionel Jospin, Dominique Strauss – Kahn, Laurent Fabius and François Hollande, have taken part in these events providing insights and contributing to a wider awareness of the issues involved. KEPP has published five volumes on various policy themes: For a Progressive Policy – Kastaniotis publishers, 2007, Orientations for Progressive Governance – Papazissis publishers, 2009, Interventions for Europe – Papazissis publishers 2009, After Ten Years: Euro’s Dynamic – Papazissis publishers 2010 and Southeastern Europe: Crisis and Perspectives – Papazissis publishers 2010.
President of KEPP is Mr. Yannos Papantoniou.
Yannos Papantoniou studied Economics at the University of Athens and the University of Winsconsin (Madison, USA), History at the Sorbonne (Paris) and he obtained the PhD Degree in Economics at the University of Cambridge (UK). In 1977-78 he lectured in the Department of Economics of the University of Athens and from 1978 to 1981 he was a member of the Department of Economics and Statistics of the OECD in Paris.
